"Colby"
Colby is my steadfast compadre...always ready for a road trip
to pick up or drop off a rescue dog, happy to accompany me on a trip
to the grocery store or even just a trip out to the mailbox. Colby
is an AKC Champion and we are looking to compete in some UKC shows
this summer. Colby has also
 been out with "Grandpa Larry" (Larry Painter of Kuwarri ACDs)
in the herding arena and he earned his Herding Started title in 4 trials placing
first in his class EVERY time with one run that earned him
a Reserve High in Trial (see photo below pedigree)! Colby also is
proud to have just earned his CGC title!This spring Colby is busy taking Danny to comformation classes and "showing him the ropes" in that arena. He is also enrolled in obedience classes and we're hoping to get that CD some time this summer. Colby is also busy training to be my assistance dog (support/balance). He chose this role for himself several weeks after my initial back injury...he was by my side then and has been my my side ever since willing to provide a helping paw for support or to pick up dropped objects when I need him to! Colby is an exceptionally high-drive but biddable boy. He is very eager to please and very loyal to whomever he is working for and attentive to the task at hand. This "business-like" boy does have a playful side, however, and he will play ball for HOURS on end and go to exceptionally humorous extremes to convince me to toss a tennis ball.
